how we embody our Ancestors’ wildest dreams, cultivate our sacred gifts and weave decolonial and matriarchal worlds

AN INITIATION IN honor
of our grandmothers

DECOLONIZING
OUR IMAGINATIONS

We feel, because our feeling is the appropriate response to injustice.
We feel, because our feeling is the opening for a sacred re-orientation.
We feel, because our feeling allows us to see what lives at the roots. In doing so, we begin to heal the very thing that the white-colonial-capitalist-patriarchy
has captured...
our imaginations.

BUT, OUR GRANDMOTHERS WHISPER,
"THERE IS A WAY. YOUR GIFTS ARE NEEDED NOW."

Women carrying water baskets on their heads

We feel not out of disproportionate
self-importance nor to subdue us
towards APATHY AND inaction.

WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

So, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

In the face of collective injustice
our personal struggles
may seem insignificant and
our gifts inadequate
to tackle the ails of a sick world.

The collective invitation is to listen to the call of our Grandmothers even when the impulse may be to throw our hands up in the air and run away.

In listening, we begin to feel.
The rage. The shame. The grief.

We exist in patriarchal world
where gen0c*des are normalized,
and ped@ph-les are pedestalized.
  Where women are r@ped
and r@p*sts get off with writing essays.
Where our children are murdered
and they gaslight us and say they drowned.

We reside in a colonial world founded on the trafficked labor of enslaved African peoples.
Soiled in the blood of
African and Indigenous peoples.
Built on brutally stolen Native lands.
Maintained on the backs of Black and brown women and femmes.
Held together by the faith of Black women.

Imagination is the map and medicine that our Grandmothers' left behind. In their songs, in their ways, in their hands. Imagination allows us to weave our medicine into decolonial and
matriarchal worlds.

TOGETHER We'll spiral deeper TO...

All of the work found here: writings, artwork, photography, videography
were created by humans for humans without the use of generative a.i.
Our Ancestors & Elders taught us that our liberation is
intertwined to the Lands & Waters.
We honor this tradition.

We are grateful to live, love and create on the lands of the Lenni Lanape.

accompany and witness people traversing meaningful life and leadership thresholds and guide them to inhabit liberatory forms and uproot the ways systems of harm steal our imaginations, sever us from our bodies and emotions and silo us from land and one another. My medicine is weaving the threads of embodied rememberance threads to create a tapestry of healing and map for liberation.

Over the past 16+ years she’s worked with people from all backgrounds and her work explores the intersection of spirituality, somatics and social change. Thérèse’s work exists in the world to provide deep counsel and guidance to cultural shapers to heal intergenerationally, unearth their deepest expression of embodied leadership and birth revolutionary work and worlds.

daughter, mother, medicine woman, VILLAGE WEAVER, DECOLONIAL LEADERSHIP GUIDE, SOMATIC EXPERIENCING PRACTITIONER,
FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS, EMBODIED BLACK GIRL GUIDE

Much informs my lens, my life, my loving and my work.  Being on the lands of Ayiti. The blood of my Free Ancestors who that launched the revolution that would cause a cascade of liberation across the world. Raised by an intergenrational and matriachal village on the lands of the Lenni Lenape known as Brooklyn, NY where I grew up in organizing spaces stic together by the richness of community. What feels present now is being a Black single mother to a Black boy with Southern and Caribbean roots. Being a girl from many cultures come from a family of  healers on both maternal and paternal sides. I grew up in organizing spaces woven in the richness of community.

One of my great honors is creating constellations of care where people especially Black women, femmes, gender expansive and members of the global majority can exhale, soften and (re)member their aliveness.
